Volunteers will build approximately 1.5 miles of brand new trail. This 72 acre open space is a little-known gem in East Oakland just off 580 and less than a mile from the Oakland Zoo. There are great views of the Bay from this natural park, but there are currently no trails. The only access is via steep, erosive fire roads. This weekend, 200 volunteers will put in a sustainable loop trail and connector trails from two entrances to enable users to get to the loop.
We need some help unloading tools on Friday, June 6, so if you are available Friday afternoon, please contact Cathy Moyer.
The King Estates Fact Sheet (PDF) contains details about the weekend and waiver and parking passes. Please bring your signed waiver with you. If you are under 18, you will need to have a parental signature on your waiver to be allowed to participate.
