Las Trampas Regional Wilderness

Volunteers for Outdoor California's first full project of the season is in the Las Trampas Regional Wilderness, one of the East Bay Regional Park District gems. Just minutes away from San Ramon, this park feels remote and will definitely refresh your spirit. It offers a great view of both Mt Diablo and San Francisco from the trail where we will be working.

Corona Heights, San Francisco

CoronaHeights Corona Heights Park is near the Castro, Cole Valley, and Haight-Ashbury Districts in San Francisco and boasts some of the best views in the city. This well-loved park gets a lot of foot traffic and all its trails are suffering badly from erosion. V-O-Cal volunteers will help repair some existing trails, replace steps, and improve drainage throughout the site.

Joaquin Miller Park, Big Trees Trail, Oakland

jmpjm The Big Trees Trail in Joaquin Miller Park is a heavily used multi-use trail and in a couple of sections has eroded so much that the roots of the magestic redwoods that give this trail its name are exposed and damaged. Help us build two beautiful re-routes that keep the trail fun, improve safety, and most importantly, protect these great trees.

Moore Creek, Napa County Parks and Open Space District

MooreCreek V-O-Cal volunteers will return to wine country and work in Skyline Wilderness Park, just outside the town of Napa. It will be hard to compete with 2009's swimming pool, but Skyline boasts Disk Golf and an Archery Range. Let's see if we can make 2010 as much fun as the 2009 project!
