Board of Directors
The first Board for any non-profit organization is critical to its long-term success. If you are interested in serving on V-O-Cal's Board of Directors, please contact Cathy Moyer. Board of Directors We are fortunate to have John Andrews, Nadine Hitchcock, Dave Troutner and Cathy Moyer, serving on the V-O-Cal Board of Directors. John Andrews is a retired Human Resources executive. He contributes his time and talent to non-profit organizations such as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, and The Health Trust. John worked in HR management at Hewlett-Packard and served as VP of Human Resources for Aspect Telecommunications. He has an MBA (with honors) from the University of Michigan and a BA in Economics and Government, cum laude, from Georgetown University. Nadine Hitchcock is currently Deputy Executive Officer for the California Coastal Conservancy where she oversees fiscal and administrative matters; strategic planning; participates in agency policy development and implementation; and serves as a liaison and advocate for federal funding of Conservancy supported projects. Dave Troutner is the manager of REI Mountain View. He has been a board member for Volunteers for Outdoor Arizona, Arizona Trail Association, and served on the Arizona State Council on Trails. He was also an Ambassador for the American Hiking Society. Dave has been employed by REI since 1996 and has worked in 5 states in that time. V-O-Cal is lucky he relocated to the Bay Area in September 2007. Dave is most happy when outdoors hiking, biking, camping, skiing and hanging out with his son. Advisory Board Many great individuals have helped in these early part of VOCal and form the nucleus of a terrific advisory Board. Advisory Board is a good option for those with great interest but limited time. If you are interested in joining on V-O-Cal's Advisory Board, please contact Cathy Moyer. Stacey Lund Walter T. Moore, Executive Vice President, Peninsula Open Space Trust Mr. Moore joined the POST staff in 1995. As Executive Vice President of Land, he is responsible for all acquisition, management and disposition of property that has been protected by POST. Prior to coming to POST, he was an associate with the law firm of Thoits, Love, Hershberger & Mclean in Palo Alto where he specialized in real estate transactions and litigation. Mr. Moore received his law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. He is a member of the California Council of Land Trusts Policy Committee and formerly Chair of the Bay Area Open Space Council. John Power, Exec. Dir., The Volunteer Center, San Francisco Lynne Trulio, Professor, San Jose State University Lynne Trulio is a professor and recent chair of the Department of Environmental Studies at San Jose State University, where she has taught and conducted research since 1991. Dr. Trulio teaches courses in environmental impact assessment and environmental restoration, as well as graduate seminars and undergraduate courses. Her research investigates human impacts on species and habitats. In addition to her position at San Jose State, Dr. Trulio has been the Lead Scientist for the South Bay Salt Pond Restoration Project since 2003. In that capacity, she directs the Project's science program and sits on the Project Management Team. As an American Association for the Advancement of Science Environmental and Engineering Fellow, she worked as an environmental scientist in the Wetlands Division, Office of Wetlands, Oceans & Watersheds of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, DC in 1999 and 2000. She holds a Ph.D. in Ecology from the University of California, Davis (1988) and an undergraduate degree in Biology from Goucher College in Towson, MD (1979). |
